Dr. Bohm has been with EERC since its founding in 1973, serving in several capacities, including acting director, while holding a professorship in the economics department.

His research interests include: the use of environmental taxes as an instrument of environmental policy, particularly among state governments in the United States as well as provincial and regional governments in developing countries; factors affecting the decision by a firm to generate hazardous waste and the impact that the generation of such waste has on public policy; economies-of-scale and sustainability of solid-waste recycling programs; economic issues surrounding the valuation of human life and environmental degradation.

Dr. Bohm is a member of the American Economic Association and the National Tax Association. His hobbies include hiking, reading, cooking, and gardening.
