EERC ~ Faculty Associate - Donald G. Hodges
Ph.D., Forest Economics, University of Georgia. M.S., Forest Economics, University of Georgia. B.S., Forestry, University of Tennessee. Dr. Hodges, an associate professor in the Department of Forestry, Wildlife and Fisheries, also holds an appointment as a faculty associate with EERC. Dr. Hodges came to the University of Tennessee in 1999 after faculty appointments with the University of New Hampshire, Mississippi State University, and Tulane University. He also has worked as a researcher for the USDA Forest Service. Dr. Hodges' current research activities center on valuation of market and nonmarket goods associated with forested ecosystems, land use change, public and private land management, and hardwood timber markets. Dr. Hodges also has conducted research on the economic aspects of global climate change, site remediation technologies, and forest policy. Dr. Hodges teaches several classes in the undergraduate forestry curriculum in the areas of economics, finance, and management. He also teaches graduate level classes in Advanced Forest Management (Forestry 530) and Integrated Resource Management (Forestry, Wildlife and Fisheries 610). In addition, he coordinates the Natural Resources Ph.D. program. Dr. Hodges is a member of the Society of American Foresters and the Southern Forest Economics Workers.
