This is a foundation-building course intended for
individuals involved in land-disturbing activities and will provide a working
knowledge of erosion and sedimentation processes and practices.

Best management practices (BMPs)
State agencies and MS4 officials involved – their roles and how they interact
The NPDES construction storm water permitting process
The erosion process and hydrologic cycle
Structural and non-structural BMPs for erosion and sediment control
Government agencies involved with erosion and sedimentation control
The impact of erosion on Tennessee’s natural resources

This course is a prerequisite for the course “Design of Vegetative and
Structural Measures for Erosion Prevention and Sediment Control.”

inspection and enforcement personnel from all levels of government –
essentially anyone who is involved in land-disturbing activities.

Center at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.

Registration is limited. Registrations normally will not be accepted after 3 working days prior to the workshop (see registration form for deadlines). Early registration and payment are strongly encouraged to guarantee your space. In the event you are not able to attend the workshop you registered for, substitutions will be allowed. Refunds are possible if requested at least five working days prior to the workshop; call (865) 974-4251 for instructions on how to apply for a refund. No refunds will be made after this deadline, but substitutions and changes to other locations or dates may be made at any time. If you have not paid the fee, you may cancel at any time, but seating priority will be given to registrants who have prepaid.
To register, print a copy of the form that follows, fill it out and fax it to the Energy, Environment and Resources Center. If you can’t fax a copy, please mail the form at least two weeks prior to the workshop. Email registration is possible; be sure to include all information requested on the form and send it to Louis Allen (lallen1@utk.edu). Confirmation of registration will be by email or fax (or mail if necessary) one to two weeks prior to the workshop for which you have registered. The certificate of completion will be mailed to the address you provide on this registration form.
