Erosion and Sediment Control Handbook

Construction activities near streams, rivers, and lakes have the potential to cause water pollution and stream degradation if erosion and sediment controls are not properly installed and maintained. To effectively reduce erosion and sediment impacts, Best Management Practices (BMPs) must be designed, installed, and maintained at the construction site. This handbook is a guide for protection of Tennessee waters through use of BMPs during land-disturbing activities.
