runners, UTK's Challenge X vehicle, an ETCFC street sign, the LoneTones play, hybrid vehicle logos, having fun!

  • The ETCFC will showcase various alternative fuel vehicles (AFVs)--on the order of 15-20--to not only let you see and touch these cleaner vehicles but also to show you who your neighbors are that are going the extra mile to utilize alternative fuels. They will include vehicles running on biodiesel, electricity, ethanol, natural gas and propane (not to mention the hybrids). There's a lot of 'em at work in East Tennessee!

  • Get to know Retro Mow! Led by Mike Whedbee, this upstart is looking to get a cooperative of electric riding lawn mowers in use. If others following Whedbee's example, he can show them how to purchase and use solar cells to be the recharge source for the mower. Solar-powered, truly pollution-free lawn mowing! Now that's something I could get into. Whedbee will be on-hand to show off the mowers (as long as Mother Nature cooperates and it doesn't rain), and possibly let interested parties ride them out in the field at the very grassy site!
  • This will be the 3rd year or our "Ride-n-Drive"! Immediately following distribution of the prizes to the participants (at about 11am), you will be able to test drive about 10 different, current hybrids that are offered today (2008 & 2007 models). A list of the vehicles we expect to be in attendance is shown on the vehicles page. <<< Hybrid Ride-n-Drive >>>
  • The city of Sevierville will have a hybrid-electric propane-fired trolley on-hand and it will be running our electrical needs, so our electricity will be (as it should be) produced onsite by a clean-burning, very low-emission alternative fuel!
  • Lots of great awards and door prizes! We'll have awards three deep in all age categories and door prizes for another 20 participants. And when you have not one, or two, but EIGHT 18"x20" matted Jim Gray prints that are provided as both participation awards and door prizes, everybody's got a shot at one of 'em!
  • There will be on the order of 4-5 displays on regional air quality issues and solutions from air quality-focused organizations in the area. Something at the top of the list that they will be showing you is how you can take action to make a difference!
  • Great food! How can you go wrong when Earth Fare is your food partner?!?! Plenty for everybody and healthy, to boot! Fruit, energy bars and some of their delicious muffins!

Entertainment

We are very pleased to have The Lone Tones back for a 2nd year!! Their self-styled "original mountain music" is a perfect fit for our event, and we think you'll love them as much as we do! Visit their Website to learn more about them, see them and hear them!
