Ms. Swanson's work focuses on risk-based chemical evaluation methodologies for pollution-prevention strategies, evaluation of products for their environmental attributes, and the fate and effects of chemicals released into the environment. In past years she worked as an environmental chemist with CH2M Hill in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, and Milwaukee, Wisconsin, primarily on hazardous-waste site remedial investigations and feasibility studies. She also worked as an environmental engineer/risk assessment specialist for IT Corporation in Knoxville, Tennessee, managing and conducting human health risk assessments and contaminant fate and transport modeling. Ms. Swanson is a member of the Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry (SETAC). Her hobbies include hiking and gardening. |
